Vanessa Xu

I’ve always had a passion with helping children and love seeing the difference it makes to their confidence levels and speech development. Throughout my 13 years of working as a paediatric clinician, I have worked with numerous parents to address their child’s communication difficulties and enjoy seeing the growth and development in their children.

I graduated with a Masters in Speech Language Pathology from The University of Sydney and have worked in both public (NSW Health) and private practices, in regional NSW and metropolitan areas. I have worked with bilingual families and children with an ESL (English Second Language) background. I have also worked with students from international schools in Thailand via Telehealth. I am trained and certified in Hanen - It Takes Two To Talk, Target Word and the Lidcombe Program for preschoolers who stutter.

Areas that I assess and provide therapy for include;

  • Speech clarity

  • Language (understanding and expression)

  • Stuttering

  • Social Communication

  • Literacy
